Apartment, McMahons Point

Our client’s grand 1930s apartment had last been renovated in the 1990s and was in dire need of an update both inside and out.

To infuse a sense of luxury in harmony with the apartment’s original grandeur, the two bathrooms were redesigned with marble finishes. Timber panelling was added to the entry foyer and staircase walls, enhancing their Arts & Crafts charm. The fireplace was reinstated, introducing an elegant warmth to the room. New lighting accentuates the existing feature ceilings and the client’s art collection, while a wine cellar and study were also added. The new colour palette enhances the masculine richness of the finishes and furnishings.

Externally, a portico was added to create a more majestic side entrance, and a large pergola was constructed using steel and recycled hardwood posts. Climbing wisteria was introduced to soften the structure. The overgrown garden was replanted, and a water feature, sculptures and new lighting were installed to elevate the outdoor space.
