Semi-detached house, Fairlight

Our clients needed an extension to their semi-detached house to accommodate their growing family. A first-floor addition would include two bright, spacious bedrooms and a modern bathroom to meet the family’s needs.

Faced with a constrained site and numerous planning restrictions, we employed both the Development Application (DA) and Complying Development Certificate (CDC) processes to secure the necessary building approvals.

By extending the side and rear of the house, we created an open-plan living area that seamlessly connects to the backyard, offering a perfect space for both relaxation and entertainment. The roof was meticulously matched to the pitch of the existing tile roof, ensuring minimal visibility from the street. This thoughtful design choice reduced overshadowing on neighbouring properties and maintained the traditional aesthetic of the neighborhood, blending harmoniously with the surrounding architecture.
